Product Description
Shelly Lee Adams is determined to make a better life for herself. She leaves the coal fields of Kentucky for the fledgling automobile world of Detroit, Michigan. Her love affair with an itinerant piano player and the birth of her son begin a journey of hope and tragedy. In the end, it’s her son Zac that will finish the journey. He faces his own demons over the women he loves and loses. Some people he meets will help him and others will have a more sinister agenda.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Zac begins a career in show business. His journey is a tumultuous one through the nation’s history: vaudeville, the Roaring Twenties, Prohibition, the Wall Street crash of 1929, association with Detroit’s Purple Gang, black listed by the House Un-American Activities Committee, and finally trying to reunite with the woman he loves.
